CMLI Admission Requirements

 1. Ordinary Diploma (OD) Programme

Admission Requirements

Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

Applicants must be 18 years and above.

Relevant work or leadership experience is an added advantage.

 2. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

Admission Requirements

HND (Lower Credit and above) OR

Bachelor’s degree (Third Class or Pass) from a recognized institution.

NYSC discharge/exemption certificate (for Nigerian applicants).

Consideration may be given to applicants with substantial managerial or administrative experience.

 3. Master’s Degree Programmes

Admission Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower, or a PGD with a minimum of Credit grade.

NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.

Relevant professional or managerial experience is an added advantage.

 4. Doctoral Programmes (PhD, MPhil/PhD, Professional Doctorates)

A. Academic PhD

Admission Requirements

A Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% (B grade) or CGPA 3.5/5.0.

Evidence of research competence (Master’s thesis, publication(s)).

A research proposal in the intended area of specialization.

B. MPhil/PhD Programme

Admission Requirements

A Master’s degree with a CGPA between 3.0 and 3.49 (or equivalent).

Candidates initially register for the MPhil, and upon satisfactory progress, will upgrade to full PhD status after meeting the Centre’s academic requirements.

A research concept note or proposal is required for screening.

C. Professional PhD

(Doctor of Management & Leadership.)

Admission Requirements

A Master’s degree in any field from a recognized university OR

Postgraduate professional qualifications, which are acceptable for admission.

Examples include:

MBBS, BDS; LLB + BL; PharmD / M.Pharm; Fellowships of professional bodies, e.g. ICAN, CIPM, NIM (Chartered), COREN, NIPR, IPAN, NIMN, Medical and health-related fellowships

Applicants must have substantial professional or managerial experience (5–10 years).

Submission of a practice-based doctoral proposal centred on leadership, management, governance, or organizational practice.

Basic Certificate Programmes in Management and Leadership

The Basic Certificate programmes are designed to equip learners with foundational knowledge and practical skills in management, leadership, communication, and workplace effectiveness. They are suitable for young school leavers, junior staff, artisans, and individuals seeking personal or career development.

1. Basic Certificate (Level 1)

Admission Requirements

Minimum of three (3) O’Level passes in any subjects.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Suitable for beginners or those without prior formal training in management or leadership.

Mature learners without O’Level results may be considered based on experience and basic literacy.

2. Basic Certificate (Level 2)

Admission Requirements

Completion of Basic Certificate Level 1, OR

Three (3) O’Level credits, including English Language, OR

Equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

Open to individuals who want to build on foundational skills with more applied, practical training.
