Centre for Management and Leadership, University of Ilorin Trains Over 800 in Capacity-Building Workshop

The Centre for Management and Leadership at the University of Ilorin successfully hosted a landmark Staff Development Workshop on February 11, 2026, drawing an impressive turnout of over 800 participants from within the university and various parastatals across Kwara State.

The event, which held on the university campus in Ilorin, was chaired by Her Excellency, the First Lady of Kwara State, Prof. Amb. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, whose presence underscored the significance of leadership development and capacity building in the state. In her address, she commended the university for its commitment to fostering professional growth and strengthening institutional effectiveness through continuous learning initiatives.

The workshop featured a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Hon. Bola Olukoju, Ibrahim Jani, and Prof. Suleiman, who delivered insightful presentations on contemporary management practices, leadership strategies, and organizational excellence. Their sessions emphasized the importance of adaptive leadership, effective communication, and innovation in navigating the evolving demands of modern institutions.

In a statement, the Ag. Director of the Centre, Dr. Adeola Odebode, described the workshop as a significant milestone in the Centre’s efforts to promote excellence in leadership and management. According to her, “this workshop reflects our unwavering commitment to building capacity, strengthening institutional effectiveness, and equipping participants with the practical skills required to lead in today’s dynamic environment.
